Former Israeli President Shimon Peres is in stable condition after being successfully treated with catheterization for a heart attack, officials said Thursday morning at Tel Hashomer Medical Center’s Sheba Hospital.
Peres, 92, was brought to the hospital with chest pains early in the morning.
He was fully conscious upon his arrival and remained fully conscious throughout all tests and procedures, doctors told journalists.
The former president is the founder of the Peres Center for Peace, and has been the architect of numerous attempts towards co-existence with the Palestinian Authority.
