Saudi Prince Turki Al-Faisal said in an interview Monday (March 26, 2018) on Russia Today that Iran, and not U.S. President Donald Trump, is “causing trouble in the region.” In remarks translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), the prince said that it is Russia’s responsibility to “highlight the atrocious acts that the Iranian government perpetrates against its own people.”
Prince Al-Faisal is the former Chief of Saudi Intelligence and Ambassador to the United Kingdom. The prince pointed to Iranian intervention in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, and elsewhere, and and said that documents that were found in the Bin Laden compound showed that he had been in touch with Iran.
