Freed Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist Khader Adnan, released on Sunday from an Israeli prison by virtue of having carried out a 56-day hunger strike, managed to get himself re-arrested the next day — literally within hours.
Adnan was again arrested by Monday because he illegally entered the Old City of Jerusalem in an attempt to access the Al Aqsa mosque on the Temple Mount. This week is the final week in the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.
Numerous Jews are also arrested each month for illegally attempting to access the holy site as well. The Temple Mount is the holiest site in Judaism, and the third holiest site in Islam.
According to Israel Police spokesperson Micky Rosenfeld, Adnan is “an Islamic Jihad activist and is prohibited for this reason from entering Israeli territory.”
He was released within a few hours, and sent back to his Palestinian Authority hometown of Jenin, in Samaria.
