Aziz Awisat (49), from the Jerusalem neighborhood of Jabel Mukaber, has been sentenced to 30 years in jail.
Awisat was convicted of 9 cases of attempted murder for trying to kill Jews by cutting the gas lines in nine building in the Armon HaNatziv neighborhood.
In 2012, he tried to kill a Chareidi man with an ax on HaNeviim street in Jerusalem, badly wounding him.
Awisat came up with the idea while visiting a Bituach Leumi (National Insurance) office to collect money from the state of Israel. He heard guards talking about the explosion in Gilo and decided to replicate it as a terror attack.
