Rockets fired from Gaza into Israel as seen from Sderot, 2014

Just after Shabbat began in Israel on Sept. 18, the code red sirens began blasting in southern Israeli.

A rocket fired from Gaza landed in a residential area of Sderot.

A civilian bus was struck either by or as a result of the Hamas rocket, but although physical injuries were not immediately reported, people on the scene were being treated for shock.

The rocket strike on Sderot marks the first time since the 2014 summer conflict between Gaza and Israel.
