A general closure on the crossings into the Palestinian Authority and Gaza begins at midnight Monday night, in accordance with the assessment carried out by the IDF and the political echelon.
The crossings will be reopened on Tuesday night at midnight, subject to the assessment and in accordance with routine hours, the IDF said.
The closure – a security precaution — is being carried out due to Israel’s national election, which takes place beginning at 7 am Tuesday morning and which will continue throughout the day until 10 pm Tuesday night.
Passage will be possible under humanitarian circumstances, with the approval of the IDF COGAT (Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories).
