Terrorists in Hamas-controlled Gaza attacked Israel with another rocket Sunday evening, causing no injuries or damage but sending residents in the Sderot area to bomb shelters.
The Color Red early warning system did not activate, but residents with mobile phones received the warning in a text message.
After every rocket attack, the military eagerly states, “The IDF will not tolerate any attempt to harm Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers and will continue to operate with strength and determination against any element which uses terror against the State of Israel. The IDF holds the Hamas terrorist organization solely responsible for any terrorist activity emanating from the Gaza.”
The announcement, which does not exactly send fear into the hearts of terrorists in Gaza but is good copy for the wire services, usually follows the “retaliation” of hitting a weapons factory or terror tunnel, the existence of which is previously known but apparently is on the list of targets that can be hit as a “response.”
Hamas and allied terrorists attacked the area south of Ashkelon with a rocket on Thursday and on Wednesday night, prompting officials to “retaliate” by deploying an Iron Dome anti-missile system in the Sderot and Be’er Sheva areas and striking a couple of “terror targets.”
