"Free Avraham Mengistu" protest at Erez Crossing

Israel reportedly offered Hamas the release of the brother of a senior Hamas official, in exchange for the release of either Avraham “Avra” Mengistu, or Heysham A-Sayad, two civilians, both of whom are believed to be held hostage by Hamas in Gaza, according to a report in Maariv.

Hamas turned down the deal, saying the deal is too small, and any deal with either be everything [a lot of Hamas terrorists] or nothing.

In a conversation with a reporter from Kol Yisrael, a Hamas source said they would bless the involvement of the Egyptians in negotiating a trade, but that isn’t on the table at the moment.
