Qasar Al-Yahud baptism site in the Jordan Valley

An IDF jeep drove over a landmine in near the Jordan Valley, near the Qaser al-Yahud baptismal site, on Wednesday afternoon, around 2:45 PM.

The back of the jeep was blown up from the explosion.

Seven soldiers were lightly injured. Two were taken by helicopter to Hadassah Ein Karem hospital. Five more were taken by ambulance.

The hospital reports that the two who arrived so far are conscious, only lightly injured and are undergoing additional tests.

The unit was working to fence off a landmine field.
