An IDF soldier who was stabbed Friday night by an Arab terrorist at the Qalandia crossing north of Jerusalem is currently listed in stable condition, with moderate wounds.

The 20-year-old soldier was on guard duty at the checkpoint when he was stabbed by the attacker, a 28-year-old man from the Palestinian Authority who allegedly ran on foot through the vehicle section of the checkpoint.

There, he stabbed the soldier who was deployed to check the vehicles passing through. The stabber was shot by security forces at the scene, and later died of his wounds.

The IDF immediately shut down the checkpoint in response to the attack. Violent demonstrations followed the shutdown, with hundreds of Arabs hurling rocks at the IDF soldiers. The troops employed riot control methods to disperse the mob.
