A senior Indian cabinet minister said that India will not cut Iran oil imports despite US sanctions and prodding.

“Why should we seek waiver from the US? We have done business with Iran earlier and will continue to do business,” the minister said.

Indian government officials are planning a visit Iran next week to discuss alternative avenues to pay for oil in the wake of US measures designed to block Iran’s oil trade.
