Arrests of Palestinian and Israeli Arab suspects continue daily as the attacks on Israeli Jews and others mount up, clearly escalating into what is obviously a deliberately organized, calculated Intifada Mark 3.
Israeli forces arrested 12 security suspects in eastern Jerusalem late Wednesday and early Thursday morning. Six adults and six minors were taken into custody on suspicion of disturbing public order.
A Palestinian Arab terrorist attacked a group of soldiers overnight into Thursday near Einav, a religious Zionist community located north of Jerusalem in the Samaria (Shomron) region.
The attacker, who pulled a knife and attempted to stab the soldiers, was caught and injured in the attack. Medics from the Arab Red Crescent emergency response service treated the attacker at the scene before he was taken for question to security personnel.
Earlier Wednesday night, two Israeli soldiers were hit by flying rocks while contending with a riot at the Palestinian Arab village of Beit Omar, between Kiryat Arba-Hebron and Gush Etzion.
One of the soldiers was seriously injured; the condition of the second soldier is unknown. Both were evacuated to a hospital in Jerusalem.
The attack occurred while Palestinian Arabs were hurling rocks and firebombs (Molotov cocktails) and firing guns to mark the speech of Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas at the United Nations General Assembly. In his speech Abbas renounced the PA’s signing of the internationally-recognized 1994 Oslo Accords, declaring the PA no longer was bound by the mandates set forth therein.
Israeli motorists driving in two separate cars came under attack Thursday (Oct. 1) by Palestinian Arab terrorists on the road near Tekoa, in eastern Gush Etzion. A woman and a six-month-old baby, were wounded in the attack. Two other children were badly traumatized and required treatment for anxiety.
Both drivers continued to navigate their vehicles until they reached the safety of Tekoa, where they were able to inspect the damage to their cars.
Tekoa residents subsequently traveled to the Arab village near their town following the attack to protest the violence near their community. Clashes broke out between IDF soldiers and Arab residents after Tekoa’s military security coordinator fired into the air to warn Palestinian Arabs who had begun to throw stones at the vehicle of one of the families from Tekoa who came to protest.
