Samir Kuntar

(JNi.media) In a rare feat of pot calling the kettle black, Iran on Sunday condemned Israel’s assassination of Samir Kuntar, the man who in 1979 shot a little girl’s father in the back of his head, drowned him to make sure he died, then smashed the girl’s brain with the butt of his gun.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hossein Jaber Ansari denounced Kuntar’s assassination in the wake of the airstrike of the “Zionist regime planes.”

Ansari said the attack is a clear evidence of violation of national sovereignty and territorial integrity of an independent state and member of the United Nations and the newest pattern of state organized terrorism of the Zionist regime. To clarify, the state whose sovereignty the Zionists violated was Syria, which is currently being violated by at least nine different armies, including Iran.

Ansari described Samir Kuntar as “a symbol of resistance against occupation and invasion of the Zionist regime, who after close to three decades of captivity was released a few years ago in an exchange operation of captives with Lebanese Hezbollah.” Actually, Kuntar was released in exchange for the bodies of two IDF reservists, Eldad Regev and Ehud Goldwasser.

Jaber Ansari extended his condolences to “Kuntar’s family, his fellow fighters, Lebanese and Palestine resistance as well as Lebanese government and nation.” He added that “such acts of the Zionist regime have turned to a permanent and constant conduct and are the most dangerous form of state terrorism.” He called on international organizations and world governments to “condemn such terrorist acts and to not allow the global community’s intention of campaigning against terrorism be weakened under the influence of the terrorist measures of the Zionist regime.”

On Saturday, Director General of the Dept. of Intelligence, Ram Ben-Barak, a former senior Mossad official, told a weekend forum in Be’er Sheva that Mossad’s arm is longer and deadlier than ever. Ben-Barak said that there is no enemy leader who can afford to sleep quietly at night, immune from waking up to face the barrel of a weapon during the night. Ben-Barak, who was one of the candidate for the leadership of Mossad, noted that Israel has done everything it could in the operational and intelligence areas to stop Iran’s nuclear program.
