A group of more than a dozen Israeli seniors were together on the boat when something got stuck in the motor, causing the captain to lose control of the raft, which then crashed into an obstacle and tossed the tourists into the river.

Dina Porat, 71, and Galila Biton, 61, had died immediately.

At least one victim is still in serious condition, and four others are hospitalized in fair condition, according to the Hebrew-language Ynet news site.
