The Israeli film ‘Footnote’ has been nominated for an Academy Award in the best foreign language film category.

Directed by Joseph Cedar, the film is a drama about the relationship between a father and son, both Talmudic scholars.

Cedar won the Cannes prize for best screenplay in May 2011.
