An Israeli mountain climber was killed Tuesday while hiking in the Himalayan Mountains.

Ariel Frajman, 56, slipped and fell into a gorge while hiking with his wife and son along the Ganges River in northern India.

The family was on its way to the Gangotri glacier, a popular trekking destination and the source of the Ganges River.

His body was taken to the town of Uttarkashi, according to the Hindustan Times.

Israeli officials are working with the family and local authorities to secure the necessary documentation to bring his body home to Israel for interment.
