Israeli security forces were attacked this weekend by hundreds of Arab rioters in various sites throughout the greater Jerusalem area.

In the Arab suburb of Issawiya, three rioters were detained after they hurled Molotov cocktails, live fireworks and stones at Israeli personnel as part of a mob attacking the forces.

Masked Arab attackers threw stones and live fireworks at Israeli forces in a riot at the central square in the neighborhood of Ras al-Amud, known in Hebrew as Ma’ale Zeiteim.

Unknown attackers also threw stones at the security observation post at the entrance to Ir David (City of David) in the Old City of Jerusalem, in Shiloah. No property damage or injuries were reported.

At the crossing near the northern Jerusalem neighborhood of Shuafat, some 40 Arab rioters attacked Israeli forces, hurling live fireworks and stones at Border Guard Police and soldiers who responded with standard riot control measures.

Further south, Arab attackers hurled stones at an IDF “pillbox” (security post) located at the Tomb of Rachel, on the outskirts of the capital near Bethlehem. Miraculously, no one was hurt and there was no damage.

Also reported south of Jerusalem, Arab attackers hurled a flaming Molotov cocktail into an IDF observation post near the Arab community of Beit Jala. Again, miraculously, no injuries were reported.
