“Adir” means “Mighty” in Hebrew, and as the aircraft stood gleaming on the stage in Fort Worth, the IAF chief of air staff said it was “like holding the future in [his] hands. The unique combination between split edge technology, lethality and amazing man-machine interface will lead the world to the fifth generation.
“I don’t think that it is an exaggeration to say that the presence of the F-35 in the Middle East will change the dynamic of the region for the better.”
Israeli defense firms that contributed to production on the aircraft include Israel Aerospace Industries and Elbit Systems Ltd. The Jewish State has so far purchased 33 F-35 aircraft.
