Former President Moshe Katzav on a 24-hour furlough.

Former President Moshe Katzav is to face the Israel Prisons Parole Board in early December in a third attempt to cut short his prison sentence, according to Israel’s Channel 2 television news.

Katzav is currently serving a seven-year prison term after being convicted on charges of rape and other sexual assault offenses.

To this day, Katzav has maintained his innocence and has declined to express any remorse for his crimes.

He has also declined to participate in any rehabilitation program for sexual offenders, maintaining his innocence in the matter.
