The Knesset Labor, Welfare and Health Committee has scheduled an emergency session for this coming Sunday to discuss the current outbreak of West Nile virus in Israel.

The committee intends to build an immediate strategy to end the outbreak of the disease in the country.

Two people have already died as a result of the virus; one person is hospitalized in critical condition, and 14 others are listed in serious condition.

A total of 68 people are ill with West Nile virus at present in Israel.
