(JNi.media) The Best Western Eretz Copacabana will open its gates to Jewish travelers in the neighborhood of Copacabana in Rio de Janiero, Lubavitch.com reported.
The Best Eretz will offer kosher accommodations for Jewish visitors, in time for next year’s Summer Olympics. Copacabana will be one of four Olympic Zones during the 2016 games.
Best Western, which will manage the new hotel, expects it to be completed by next March. It will offer 64 rooms, a Chabad of Copacabana synagogue on the premises, and a kosher restaurant.
Rio De Janeiro’s Jewish community will open two synagogues to accommodate Jewish visitors at the 2016 Olympics.
The beach city of Ipanema will open the Edmond J. Safra Synagogue and community center, a 20,000 square foot structure that will include study rooms, event halls, libraries and the main Sephardic style synagogue under the auspices of Rabbi Gabriel Aboutbol.
