The Ministerial Committee on Legislation on Tuesday debates the proposed legislation on imposing Israeli sovereignty on Ma’ale Adumim, an urban Israeli settlement in Judea and Samaria, some 4 miles east of Jerusalem from Jerusalem.
The debate was postponed last week, to allow discussion with Prime Minister Netanyahu, but the latter has not met with the proposed bill’s sponsors, MKs Yoav Kisch (Likud) and Bezalel Smotrich (Habayit Hayehudi).
The explanatory notes accompanying the proposed bill say that Ma’sle Adumim is part of historic Israel and that there is broad agreement in Israel and abroad on the need to include it in Israel proper.
