UPDATE 11:14 pm: Several neighborhoods in Jerusalem have been shut down, as police search for the shooter of Yehuda Glick. There are reports of celebratory fireworks in heavily Arab-populated areas of Jerusalem.

UPDATE: The victim is reportedly Yehuda Glick, a supporter of the rights of Jews to ascend the Temple Mount. Glick is in critical condition.

Police have said that tonight is the first time in many years that there has been an attempted assassination in Jerusalem.

The Jerusalem Police Spokesperson for the Foreign Media, Micky Rosenfeld, just reported that a man was shot outside of the Begin Heritage Center in Jerusalem tonight, Wednesday, Oct. 29.

Roadblocks have been set up in Jerusalem. Police are searching for a man who fled the scene on a motorbike.

The Begin Heritage Center is located outside of the Old City of Jerusalem, above the Emek Refaim section of the capital of Israel.
