Former governor of Arkansas, Mike Huckabee, visited Joseph’s tomb on Sunday night in Shechem (Nablus).
The visit to the Jewish holy site was organized by the IDF and held at night.
The visits are organized every few months, with thousands of people joining in. On Sunday, more than 5000 people participated.
As the area is under Palestinian Authority control, it is normally impossible for Jews to visit the site where Joseph, the son of the patriarch Jacob, is said to be buried.
The reason the visits are held at night is to minimize contact and friction with the Palestinian Authority population in Shechem who use the visits as an excuse to attack Jewish worshipers and desecrate the tomb.
Huckabee was joined by Samaria regional council leader Yossi Dagan and Bayit Yehudi MK Betzalel Smotrich, as well as senior IDF officers.
Huckabee, who is a supporter of Trump, was staying at the King David Hotel, but like all the other hotel’s guests, was kicked out with the arrival of President Trump, who took over the entire building.
