Minister Yair Shamir , the son of former Prime Minister Yitzchak Shamir, will be informing Minister Avigdor Liberman tomorrow that he will be quitting the Yisrael Beiteinu party, according to Israeli media sources.
According to the media source, Shamir, who strongly identifies with his father’s ideology, doesn’t like the political turns that the Yisrael Beiteinu party has made as of late.
It is not clear that Shamir is actually quitting politics, just Liberman’s party.
There are many who would like to see Shamir in the Likud party, and see it as a more natural fit.
On Monday, Liberman is expected to announce his party’s list for the upcoming Knesset.
