MK Ayoub Kara, a Druze MK from the Likud party, said there are no spies among the Druze community. The statement was made in response to the charges that a Druze soldier transferred classified information to the Syrians.
Kara said, “In the Druze community there are no spies, since the founding of the state of Israel and until the Mashiach (Messiah) comes. The Druze serve more in the IDF than the Jews, and by us there are no [Mordechai] Vanunus or Tali Fachimas.”

Kara added that he trusts the Justice system.
The accused soldier comes from a family with a very respected military history, and he volunteered to serve, even though he was exempted for religious reasons.
