Mohammed Morsi faces charges of spying for Hamas and premeditated killing of officers, soldiers and prisoners (Archhive: 2012)

A Cairo Criminal Court issued a preliminary death sentence to Muslim Brotherhood leader and former Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi, along with 105 other defendants, in the Natroun jailbreak case, according to Al Ahram.

The prison break released terrorists from Hamas, Hezbollah, Muslim Brotherhood, Al Quida as well as other criminals.

The escape was facilitated by 800 terrorists terrorists who had infiltrated into Egypt from Gaza and attacked the prison compound.

Morsi has been charged with murders and attempted murder in the 2011 prison escape.

The final verdict will be issued on June 2.
