(JNi.media) Noa Roth, 36, ultra-Orthodox daughter of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has recently moved with her husband and two children to live in Mea Shearim, Jerusalem’s most staunchly Haredi neighborhood, Ma’ariv reported this weekend.
Netanyahu and his first wife, Dr. Miriam (Miki) Weitzman (later Haran), who met in 1972 in Boston, where they were both studying, had their daughter Noa in 1979, and divorced soon after. Noa later became religious, and is married to Daniel Roth, a Chabad-affiliated businessman. The couple have two children, Netanyahu’s only grandchildren.
Noa prefers to stay out of the limelight. In Netanyahu’s official biography, on the Prime Minister’s office’s website—updated October 19, 2015—it states that “Mr. Netanyahu is married to Sara, a psychologist, and is the father of three. The Netanyahu family lives in Jerusalem.” There is no mention of the fact that his first offspring was born in an earlier marriage (he was also married to Fleur Cates from 1981 to ’84); and there’s also no mention of the prime minister’s two grandchildren, although he and Sara, his third wife, with their two sons, Yair and Avner, attended the bris of Noa’s and David’s son in 2011.
The tightly-packed neighborhood into which Noa and David Roth have just moved is 100% ultra-Orthodox, and has dozens of yeshivas, kolels and synagogues.
[Ed: It’s amazing they were able to find an available apartment in Mea Shearim.]
