Avner Netanyahu, one of the Prime Minister’s sons, enlisted as an intelligence combat soldier Monday morning, escorted by his parents and older brother Yair, who served in the IDF until his release two years ago.
They arrived at Ammunition Hill, where the new soldiers received a hug from his mother Sarah before leaving for basic training.
“We are proud and naturally also are worried,” said Prime Minister Netanyahu. “Everyone in the House of Israel knows this, and we are no different.
“I wish success to all soldiers in the IDF who enlisted today and to all of the parents who feel emotional as we do. Relax, everything will be all right, and it should be that all of the soldiers return home in peace.
The Prime Minister said he told his son at a farewell party Sunday, “Guard the country and guard yourself.”
