New Elite IDF Commando Unit to be Formed

The IDF is forming a new elite commando unit, Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Gadi Eizenkot announced Monday.

The unit will include special forces from infantry units already in existence, such as the elite Maglan, Duvdevan, Egoz and Rimon units.

The paratroopers unit will remain separate from the new unit to be formed, the IDF Spokesperson said.
