The Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) released for publication Thursday that a four-person Palestinian Authority terrorist cell was arrested, including one who was in contact with a Hezbollah-linked cell in Jordan.
The cell was compromised of terrorists of the Palestine Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and carried out a shooting attack on hikers at Wadi Kelt in the Jordan Valley last month. No one was injured, but the hiker’s car was damaged.
The terrorists are from the Hevron and Shechem areas, and one of them, Aied Assad Marka, told investigators that he had met with terrorists in Jordan who said they worked with the Hezbollah terrorist organization.
Four other suspects were arrested following the initial investigation. One of the suspects is a 30-year-old woman from Shechem who helped gather information before the cell carried out the shooting attack at Wadi Kelt.
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry recently has praised the chairman Mahmoud Abbas for preventing terror, relying on the statistic that no Israeli was killed in a terrorist attack in 2012. He has not spoken on the issue since a PA terrorist stabbed 31-year-old Evyatar Borovsky in Samaria in May.
