The Cave of the Patriarchs is the burial site of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Sarah, Rivka, Leah, Adam and Eve, in Hebron.

An Arab citizen of the Palestinian Authority shoved an Israeli Border Guard Police officer Sunday afternoon at the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron after being asked to show his identification card — which he refused to produce upon request.

The weather has been especially warm, and at present Muslim observers are prohibited from eating or drinking during the daylight hours for the entire Islamic holy month of Ramadan. Some manage the fast better than others, especially if they must perform physical labor.

The man, who appeared to be about 20 years old, was taken into custody for questioning. It is still not clear whether or not he actually had an identity card, and if so, why he didn’t just produce it upon request.
