Thirteen Palestinian businessmen who defied the Palestinian Authority's call for boycotting the recent US-led "Peace to Prosperity" economic conference in Bahrain are now being targeted by Mahmoud Abbas's security forces in the West Bank. Some of the businessmen have been forced to go into hiding. Senior White House presidential adviser Jared Kushner told participants at the U.S.-led Peace to Prosperity economic workshop in Bahrain on Tuesday that financial security for the Palestinian Authority would be impossible without a political solution to the conflict with Israel.

Palestinian Authority leaders have endlessly opposed the Bahrain workshop and Trump peace team because they chose to first roll out the economic elements of the peace plan before addressing the political sections.

Speaking during the first day of the two-day workshop, Kushner underlined: “To be clear, economic growth and prosperity for the Palestinian people are not possible without an enduring and fair political solution to the conflict, one that guarantees Israel’s security and respects the dignity of the Palestinian people.”
