Four Jewish teenagers and an Arab woman were lightly injured when Arabs began massively stoning vehicles on the Mount of Olives, in the Jerusalem A-Tur neighborhood.
The group was participating in a summer peace program consisting of Israeli, Jordanian and PA/Israeli Arab students.
The father of one of the victims was shocked, according to the Tazpit News Agency.
He said, “My son is part of a group of youths, Israelis, Jordanians and Palestinians who study cardiology as part of a summer course in summer school. It’s unbelievable that it was specifically (“davka”) they who were hit by stones.”
It is unclear why he thought their participation in a peace program would provide them immunity from an Arab terror attack.
The attack happened around 9:30 PM on Tuesday, and a bus and two cars were hit, shattering their windows.
Four of the victims were taken to Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital for injuries sustained from the shattered glass. The fifth was treated on site.
According to Hadassah hospital, the four had injuries to their head and upper body, one also had injuries to the leg, and one had injuries to the eyes. The hospital said, very large stones were thrown at them, but overall their condition is good.
