Police and Soldiers Find Suspected Car of Hit and Run Attempt

Soldiers and police have found the vehicle fitting the description that Jewish residents of Neve Tzuf said tried to run them down at the entrance to the community of Nevi Tzuf in the Binyamin region of Samaria Thursday morning, as reported here earlier today.

The driver was arrested and is being interrogated by the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet).

There has been no official determination of whether the driver intentionally tried to run into the Jewish pedestrians or whether it was a traffic mishap.

The youths said the driver tried to run into them, but a guard from the community aimed his rifle at the driver and he swerved away from them, and back onto the road.
