Hamas Imports ‘Game Changing’ Weapons
Hamas succeeded in bringing into the Gaza Strip “game changing” weapons, a top member of Hamas’s military wing claimed to this column.
The Hamas member, from the terrorist group’s Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, would not specify the type of weapons. He would not give any information on when the purported weapons were brought into Gaza.
Israeli security officials confirmed that Hamas recently was able to bring into Gaza advanced weaponry that deeply concerns the Israel Defense Forces.
The information comes a week after the Nigerian secret service seized a large weapons shipment in Lagos, one of Africa’s busiest ports.
The capture of the arms, which included Katyusha rocket launchers, underlined fears that Iran is developing a global network for moving weapons and people. Israel is concerned Tehran is exploiting unpatrolled points that have previously been used by drug cartels.
MSNBC Host Backed Candidate
With Socialist Ties
One of three Democrats financially backed by MSNBC host Keith Olbermann is the co-chairman of a Marxist/socialist-founded bloc in Congress.
Olbermann made donations of $2,400 each – the legal limit – to three Democrats: U.S. Senate candidate from Kentucky Jack Conway, who eventually lost to Republican Rand Paul; U.S. Rep. Raul Grijalva, D-Ariz.; and U.S. Rep Gabrielle Giffords, D-Ariz.
Olbermann had financially backed the three Democratic candidates despite a company policy that forbids an anchor from doing so without prior approval of the president of NBC News. He was temporarily suspended but was reinstated earlier this week.
Grijalva, supported by Olmermann, is co-chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, which boasts more than 80 members. This column previously reported caucus was founded by the Democratic Socialists of America, or DSA, and remains close to the group.
Until November 2002, the website of the Progressive Caucus was hosted by the DSA. Following news reports that drew attention to the congressional website being hosted by the socialist organization, the list of CPC names was moved to the website of Sen. Bernard Sanders, I-Vt., an avowed socialist, and eventually to its own site.
The Democratic Socialists of America’s chief organizing goal is to work within the Democratic Party and remove the stigma attached to “socialism” in the eyes of most Americans.
Communist Party Protecting Obama?
The Communist Party USA has scrubbed its website of references that stated it “actively supported” President Obama’s election.
An article posted on the party’s official website on Dec. 30, 2007, stated, “Our Party actively supported Obama during the primary election.”
The article was referring to Obama’s 2004 election to the Senate. It detailed how the African-American community and trade unionists played key roles in defeating the “ultra right.”
“This was also reflected in the historic election of Barack Obama. Our Party actively supported Obama during the primary election,” stated the article, a screen shot of which was captured by this reporter.
The website has since been scrubbed of the reference to the Community Party USA aiding Obama, with the article now reading simply, “This was reflected in the historic election of Barack Obama.”
CAIR Official Grows Testy
The leader of Oklahoma’s chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations got into a feisty exchange on air in which he defended the use of Islamic law in state courts while refusing to answer questions about his organization’s national agenda.
CAIR-OK Executive Director Muneer Awad was interviewed on this reporters radio show on New York City’s WABC 770 AM.
At one point, Awad grew so heated he asked this reporter the blusterous question, “Do you condemn the KKK?”
The discussion began with questions about CAIR’s legal challenge to a ballot initiative passed by Oklahoma voters that bans judges from using Islamic law – known as Shariah – in court decisions.
Awad argued that the voter-passed constitutional amendment is a violation of Muslims’ First Amendment rights, and that “Shariah law has never been used in Oklahoma before this amendment came about.”
This reporter pointed out, however, that the amendment was intended to be preventative.
But when the conversation turned to national issues and the history of CAIR and its founders, Awad grew immediately defensive.
Citing FBI testimony and documents linking CAIR to the international terror-backing organizations Hamas and Muslim Brotherhood, this reporter asked if Awad condemned the groups.
“I condemn any organization that is involved in any acts of terrorism,” Awad responded.
Awad, however, blasted back that he was “offended” by the questions and challenged, “Do you condemn the KKK?”
“Of course I condemn the KKK, but I’m not part of an organization that was founded by the KKK,” this reporter said. “You, on the other hand, are part of CAIR, which, there was a new book put out, ‘Muslim Mafia,’ which brings documentation and that the FBI earlier even testified to this, that your organization, CAIR, was funded by Muslim Brotherhood offshoots, was listed by the Muslim Brotherhood in documents as a like-minded partner.”
