Children run into a shelter during a Red Alert siren warning of incoming rockets fired from Gaza in the southern Israeli city of Ashkelon.

The Red Alert incoming rocket siren activated just before 9 pm Sunday night in some half a dozen southern Israeli communities in the Sha’ar HaNegev Regional Council district along the border of Gaza.

Among the towns affected were Nir Am, Or HaNer, Erez, Sderot and Avivim.
