(JNi.media) The Palestinian Authority has paid in recent years hundreds of thousands of dollars to each of the security prisoners with Jewish blood on their hands who are jailed in Israel, many of them Hamas members responsible for deadly attacks in Israel, Israel Radio reported Tuesday. Documents obtained by an Israel Radio correspondent reveal that the murderers in jail continue to receive salaries even today.
The official PA documents published online in the first time show that the Hamas explosives engineer Abdullah Barghouti, who was sentenced to 67 consecutive life sentences, has received more than $60,000 from the Palestinian Authority. Ibrahim Hamed, who served as head of the military wing of Hamas in Judea and Sumaria and was sentenced to 54 consecutive life sentences, received a salary of $52,000 dollars. Both Hamas terrorists were involved in several notable suicide attacks during the second intifada: at the Jerusalem Cafe Moment bombing, the attack at Hebrew University, at the Sbarro restaurant in Jerusalem, and at Club Sheffield in Rishon Letzion.
Muhammad Arman, who leads the Hamas prisoners in Israeli jails, and who was sentenced to 36 consecutive life terms, earned by 2012 $60,000. The members of the murderous Silwan cell, responsible for several serious bombing attacks in Jerusalem in the last decade, have received from the Palestinian Authority between $60,000 and $78,000 each.
The documents obtained by Israel Radio also detail salaries being paid to members of the PA security forces who attacked Israelis during the second intifada and are still imprisoned in Israel.
Ashraf Al Ajrami, the PA Minister of Prisoners, told Israel Radio that the money was intended to benefit the prisoners’ families. He said that the Palestinians see them as heroes and freedom fighters.
Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, MK Tzachi Hanegbi, said that PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas is fueling violence and terrorism by compensating and remunerating murderous terrorists with huge sums of money.
