A second chemical plant has exploded in eastern China, this time near the city of Zibo, in Huantai county in Shandong province, south of Beijing along the east coast.
At least nine were injured in the blast, which occurred at around 8:50 pm local time, according to the official Xinhua state news agency.
The cause of the explosion is not known.
There is a residential area about one kilometer away from the plant, where a fireball rose into the sky above the warehouse at the Runxing chemical plant.
The death toll was 100 at a chemicals warehouse in the port city of Tinajin on August 15. More than 700 were injured and thousands left homeless in the double blast.
The massive explosions ignited with a huge fireball that rose into the sky surrounded by fireworks. It was not clear what set off the conflagration.
Sodium cyanide, calcium carbide, toluene diisocyanate and other chemicals were being stored in the warehouses and have been leaking from site since the initial explosions occurred.
