A senior IDF officer predicted that in the next war, Israel would be attacked by missiles from every possible front: Gaza, Judea and Samaria, Syria and Lebanon, as well as the Sinai, Israel Radio reported.

The officer spoke in a press briefing held seven months ago, which only now has been released for publication.

He stated that the Southern Command estimates this year there won’t be a war, in part because of the great damage inflicted on Gaza last summer. The senior officer added that Hamas is trying to rebuild thousands of feet of terror tunnels running underground in Gaza by creating bypasses in the segments destroyed by the IDF.

According to the same officer, there is a major split between Hamas’ political and military wings, whereby the politicians fear an Iranian bear hug that would take over the organization, while the military is starved for Tehran money.
