A man with a shotgun fired in the air 5 times outside the US Embassy in Ankara, Turkey, late Monday night/Tuesday morning. He may have been trying to enter the Embassy building.
Police arrested the man and took him into custody, according to Daily Sabah reporter Ragip Soylu.
While being arrested, the man yelled, “Don’t play with us.”
The Turkish state news agency said the shooter’s name is “Şahin S.”
The US Embassy states the incident is over but advises US citizens to avoid the area until the morning.
This is the second shooting incident in Turkey against foreign diplomats in a day.
This shooting happened just a few hours after the Russian Ambassador to Turkey was assassinated in a nearby art gallery.
