St. Petersburg Synagogue

The administrator of the Primorsky district, St. Petersburg synagogue was robbed Tuesday night, Nevskaya Novosti reports, citing law enforcement.

The incident took place around 9:30 PM, when the synagogue executive returned home. At the entrance to his building, an unidentified man attacked him, grabbed him by the throat and demanded money. The robber walked away with 3,500 rubles (about $60).

The synagogue administrator described the attacker as a European man, 35-40. The man was drunk.

Police are investigating.
