Syrian launched three surface-to-air missiles at IAF fighter planes early this morning, who went on a bombing run against a target in Syria. Israel launched an Arrow-3 missile and took out one of the missiles. The explosion was heard in much of eastern Israel, includin Jerusalem, Modi’in and the Jordan Valley.

The Arrow is primarily designed to take out intercontinental ballistic missiles.

This is the first known usage of the Arrow-3 in a real-world combat situation, and it was clearly successful.
