Al Capone, one of the slipperiest thugs in American history evaded prison until he was snagged by the Internal Revenue Code.

The Congressional committee must also trace all the players involved in this attempt to use subterfuge to defeat an Israeli prime minister and to interfere in the internal lawmaking processes of a sovereign ally.

So, once again, an effort to evade scrutiny ends up drawing additional attention to wrongdoings. Crime does not pay.
