It was a rather odd question, given the blood that had run in the streets just a few days prior. Those attacks were carried out by homegrown local radical Islamist terrorists who had trained abroad and came home to kill.

The French Jewish community of 550,000 is outnumbered by the Muslim immigrant community in France by more than ten to one. Yet numerous Jews in France still insist that if they leave, then “they will win.”

Why that should be more important than staying alive to survive and win a different day, mystifies this writer.

“The anti-Semitic dimension [of this attack] must be constantly recalled,” warned French Prime Minister Manuel Valls following the unity march. But in the style of the true Frenchman, he then added, “What a beautiful day this was. Paris is the capital of the world today.”
