Utilight, an Israeli renewable energy startup company, will launch a new manufacturing plant on the Gaza border, Calcalist reported Tuesday. The company will invest close to $5.5 million in the new venture, with a $1.01 million investment from Economy Ministry Investment Authority.
Economy and Industry Minister Eli Cohen (Kulanu) said in a statement that “developing the southern periphery, especially the Gaza perimeter communities, is part of the government’s commitment, and we invest a great deal of effort to locate investors to develop industry and employment in this region, with an emphasis on quality employment.”
