The voluntary evacuation of the Negev Bedouin village of Umm al-Hiran began Sunday in accordance with the recently-signed agreement between the Bedouin Development Authority and the residents of the community.

This weekend, eight structures in the village were dismantled by the residents themselves.

Some of the families have already moved to the plots that were granted to them in the nearby neighborhood “12″ in the Bedouin town of Hura, located close not far from the site of the village.

The remainder of the families are expected to move sometime this week.
