Can anyone remember a time when Purim was celebrated at the White House? When the brachot (blessings) were recited in Hebrew with a full minyan (quorum) and the Megilla read there for Jewish staff?
When was it even considered acceptable for a presidential aide to celebrate the holiday with appropriate prayers – and mishloach manot (holiday gifts of food) — at the workplace?
This is Purim under the Trump Administration … Presidential Special Representative to International Negotiations Jason Greenblatt is reciting the brachot that precede the reading of the Megilla (the Scroll of Esther).
Honored to recite the brachot (blessings) before the reading of the Megilla today at the White House.
Blessed to be able to celebrate the holiday of Purim in the White House.
