New York City mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner’s popularity has plummeted in pre-primary election polls, but he is leading the pack among comedians, The New York Post reported Tuesday.
A new study by the Center for Media and Public Affairs at George Mason University found that comedians such as Jay Leno and David Letterman, among others, targeted Weiner 120 times in the first six months of this year, putting him at the top of the list after President Barack Obama.. However, the tally does not take into account this past week’s latest sexting scandal.
Comedian Jimmy Fallon said of Weiner, “He confirmed yesterday that some new sexually explicit messages have been leaked. He sent them to a woman on Facebook using the code name ‘Carlos Danger.’ Which is still easier to believe than that other name: Mayor Weiner.”
