Fire started near Yitzhar, July 20, 2018

Approximately 20 families were evacuated from their homes on Thursday afternoon in the Samaria Jewish community of Yitzhar when flames began rising near the Shaked neighborhood on the edge of town.

Two homes and a stable were destroyed before firefighters were able to get the flames under control.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. This is not the first time Yitzhar has had to fight fires, nor the first time there have been struggles with Arab neighbors.

This time too, residents of the town said they believe the fire was set by Arabs living in the nearby Palestinian Authority village of Urif.
